9 March 2010 14.20 BST
On February 4, Dion Davie, head of the British agency of Kling & Freitag SoundSystems, organised the first K&F workshop at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, founded in1985 by Sir Paul McCartney and Beatles producer George Martin.
The workshop took place in the Paul McCartney Theatre of the venerable old building. The pupils of LIPA that specialise in "technology" were invited.
The lecturer David Ludz was in charge of the technical support for Kling & Freitag and was assisted actively by the company VME with the substantial equipment of K&F systems, the brand-new NOMOS XLC was contributed by K&F, Hanover.
The training was focused on the recent Kling & Freitag products:
• Sequenza 10 line array
• Sequenza 10B subwoofer
• Con:Sequenza simulation software
• CD 44 digital controller
• CD 44 remote software
• Nomos XLC 3x18“ cardioid subwoofer
The K&F workshop lasted nearly seven hours and included a detailed part of practical experience. Chris Layton, lecturer of LIPA confirmed that the workshop has been received enthusiastically by the participants and the organisers, and that there would certainly be scope for future workshops.
