Matt-LX Launches Industry Focused Manual Handling Course
20 January 2010 11.41 BST
A training course on safe handling especially developed for those in the theatre and event industry, delivered in the work place by City and Guilds accredited trainers.
Committed to providing top quality customer service, support and the development of skills and safety within our industry, lighting and technical production specialist Matt-LX has launched a Manual Handling course specifically developed for those in the theatre and event
Industry.
Developed in association with Birmingham Repertory Theatre, the training covers key aspects of safe handling, legal responsibility, human factors, risk assessment and safe systems of work. Carried out in the workplace, the course is relevant to all departments, from stage crew and wardrobe to ticket sales and marketing.
“If we are lucky enough not to have those progressively regular little aches and pains ourselves, we all know somebody who is affected by a handling related injury, with 41% of work related injuries in this country being put down to poor manual handling and the catastrophic effect these injuries can have on the individual and the organisation, we decided it was time an industry specific course was available to support our greatest asset; our people. So we designed one," said Rob Clutterham, training manager.
