Less Clicks Means More Ticks For Promoters Online
19 January 2010 11.29 BST
Promoters can now connect with music fans more directly on Facebook thanks to a new ticketing based application by entertainment website Skiddle.com.
The online company, which boasts 13.7 million hits a month, has developed an application that can be added to promoter’s pages. It
effectively means they can have their own shop on the social networking site.
The biggest advantage of the system is that it allows promoters to sell tickets directly to their customers, which means they can view the
event and buy tickets with just one click.
Ben Sebborn, director of Skiddle.com, wanted to create a tool to help promoters when the online marketing of events has never been
more important, and it really is unique. He said: “We've developed this application as there is nothing else like it available to promoters. We are constantly moving forward with development at Skiddle.com with the
promoters and customers experience in mind.”
Currently, promoters can only set up ‘event’ pages on Facebook, but then have to direct customers away if they want to buy a ticket. The new application prevents customers being distracted and is already proving popular, with 1,000 club promoters signing up since it’s
launch on November 1 2009.
One of the clubs signed up to the application is Retro. MD of Retro, Paul Taylor, who runs events in the UK and Ibiza is already impressed: “This is an amazing application that will help us out immensely with selling tickets on Facebook.”
The application can be found at http://apps.facebook.com/skiddle/.
