Martin Professional Releases Maxxyz 2.60 Software
01 October 2009 16.39 BST
Martin Professional has announced the release of software version 2.60 for the Maxxyz family of lighting controllers. Continuing the company’s mission to provide high quality software with the user in mind, this new release again shows how an intuitive user-interface and functionality can turn programming of a complex light show into a pleasant experience.
Mark Cues (Move-in-Black)
The Maxxyz 2.60’s newly designed Mark Cue is intuitive and practical. A single cue or the entire cuelist can be set as Mark Cue. Mark Cue, also known as Move-in-Black, simplifies the programming workflow by suppressing the need to program standby cues. Maxxyz makes it so simple that a cue or an entire cuelist can be “Mark Cued” by a single click of a button.
New Effect Generator macros
Similar to presets, new Effect macros allow quick access to complex effects using one or several parameters combined together. The library comes with dozens of pre-programmed effects such as Tilt/Dimmer fall or CMY/RGB colour rainbow, Iris Chases, etc. Users can add their own macros to the library and save them as part of their user settings for re-use on other shows.
New Grouping functions
The Maxxyz grouping/masking feature just got more powerful. In version 2.60 a series of new commands have been added via a newly designed user interface to make matrix style selection and application of time or effect delays easy.
New Playback behaviours
Upon request from Maxxyz users, more cuelist playback options have been added. In version 2.60 every button of a playback can be assigned to one of the numerous functions available — no less than 12 choices for each button.
Complete Maxxyz Modules support
Several new functions have been added to complement Martin’s five newly released Maxxyz Modules. All Modules are now fully supported to create the most flexible controller system on the market.
Maxxyz PC opens up two universes for free
Using a Martin Universal DMX box, Maxxyz PC will now generate up to two DMX universes without the need for a Maxxyz Dongle. This makes it the perfect controller for smaller events, or simply try it out for yourself. Any Martin LightJockey Universal USB/DMX interface will also work.
Several other changes are also part of this latest software version. The complete list of changes can be viewed in the software release notes. Maxxyz users can download the new software from the Maxxyz support site at www.martin.com/maxxyz/support.asp
