FLASHBACK TO 1997: MICHAEL JACKSON’s HIStory TOUR
26 June 2009 14.30 BST
As the world mourns the untimely death of the King of Pop on June 25, TPi remembers when his last great concert tour came to London’s Wembley Stadium.
TPi’s Mark Cunningham attended two of his Wembley shows in the summer of 1997 to document the production for SPL magazine, the publication from which TPi was to evolve a few months later.
Headed by production manager Chris Lamb, the crew included the late, great John Roden on monitors, FOH engineer Trip Khalaf, lighting designer Peter Morse and video director Paul Becher.
