Neil Diamond and Kanye West take AKG to the Grammys

(LA, USA) - AKG made its presence felt at the 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles by providing extensive wireless audio support for the standout performances of ‘American Boy’ by Kanye West and Estelle as well as a performance of ‘Sweet Caroline’ performed by Neil Diamond.

Soundtronics Wireless of Burbank, California coordinated the wireless microphone set-up prior to the Grammys and ATK Audiotek deployed the AKG products at the show. 
 
The GRAMMY-winning recording artist and 2009 MusiCares Person of the Year, Neil Diamond, kicked off the GRAMMY weekend with a Diamond tribute at the Los Angeles Convention Center, where two WMS4500 wireless systems supported by D5 microphones provided pristine audio to the star-studded gala of 2,200 people. Diamond was honored as the 2009 MusiCares Person of the Year at the 19th annual gala and was on stage with countless Grammy winners including Adele, Eric Benet, Terrence Blanchard, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Josh Groban, Jennifer Hudson, Tim McGraw and countless others.

In addition to the WMS4500 wireless microphone systems, AKG showcased a diverse group of wired microphones at the Grammy’s including 8 C414, 2 D112, 5 D40 microphone systems, six D5 handheld vocal mics, five C430 condenser, six 518M micro series and seven PCC170 Crown Boundary microphones.
