Stageco Lifts The PLASA Award For Innovation 2012

The Arena Lift was created in response to a clients request to develop a solution that would enable mother grids to be raised in venues with low structural capabilities. The result is a bespoke hydraulic lifting system that allows the building of large-scale truss systems at ground level and then lifted to increase the rigging ability of indoor venues. The design also prioritised safety and compatibility with existing stock which lead to the Arena Lift being selected from 47 other new products to win an award this year at PLASA.
 
This award win highlights Stageco’s continuous ethos of introducing new technology through research and development that is able to deliver creative solutions created to clients specifications and business needs. The Arena Lift has already been utilized by Cirque du Soleil across four continents where its use has helped to extend the reach of this tour and provide access to new markets in venues that were previously inaccessible.
 
The PLASA Awards for Innovation was celebrated during the exhibition on 10th September, recognising eight new products that have been launched to the events industry and demonstrate a new style of thinking, an improved technical practice, an aid to safety, energy saving benefits and new technology or techniques.
 
Richard Cadena, PLASA Media’s technical editor and chair of the judging panel commented: “There was a unanimous decision as to the winners for innovation this year, it seems as though 2012 has been an impressive year for new technology developments. The judges commented on the Arena Lift’s safety benefits by removing the need to work at height and time efficiency enhancements as well as its effects on expanding the venue options available to touring shows. We clearly noted the Arena Lift as a very well developed and delivered technology product to the industry."
