Swedish House Mafia And Pangolin Systems Make Headlines

20 December 2011

(USA) You can still feel the excitement in New York City following the famous dance group Swedish House Mafia’s performance at the Madison Square Garden last weekend.

The group brought their incredulous style with them to the big city, and became the first electronic dance act ever to perform at the venue... Needless to say tickets for the 20,000 seat arena sold out in minutes.

To bring some excitement to the show, and add their own personal touch of flair, the Swedish House Mafia contracted the team at Lasertainment, to put on a laser light show that would match the groups high energy performance and leave the crowd at the Madison Square Garden with something to remember.

To accomplish this, Lasertainment used six Pangolin LD2000 systems, each housed in a .NET Laptop Box, running the LivePRO software. This was used to control 6 Lasetainment Stinger 18 watt RGB laser projectors. The unique setup allowed for a massive aerial beam show synchronized to the groups fast pace musical style, and enthralled the crowd in a spectacle of beautiful white light.

The event was such a massive success, that it went on to be featured and discussed in such notable publications as the New York Times, and Rolling Stones Robert Teorey from Lasertainment said, “This was a last minute gig, and with it being the holidays, most of my gear was already out in the field... Swedish House Mafia has worked with Pangolin in the past, and I've been a dealer and friend of the company for quite a while.

"So I called Justin Perry at Pangolin, and he and the team got me setup with the systems in a days notice…. It was exactly what I needed. The systems worked flawlessly, Swedish House Mafia loved the work, and the audience… Well they had one hell of a good time!”
