ELP have always had one foot in the rigging world as part of its mainstream lighting production offering and have delivered various bespoke film and TV rigging projects in the past. This move sees a huge up-scaling in terms of the range of rigging equipment and expertise available from a single source.

But this isn’t your usual “big co. swallows up small co.” story as Nippy Industries Managing Director, Steven Williams explained: “Nippy will be absorbing ELP rigging not the other way round. As such the quality standards of ELP rigging will be elevated to that of a dedicated rigging services company.

"Nippy Industries will remain able to supply the full range of services, as always, but with the vast addition of ELP equipment. We will remain in the same location, with the same core team but gain additional ELP staff to handle the increased stock and volume of business.

He continued: “Teaming up with ELP will allow us to focus on what we are best at. That is, providing a high-level personalised service to clients and solving technical challenges on site. What’s more, with all this increased stock, we will be in a position to offer one of the best rigging ‘dry hire’ services in the UK."

ELP's Managing Director, Ronan Willson, is equally bullish about the rigging dry hire market and commented: “The range and volume of rigging equipment on offer for dry hire will put Nippy Industries is a very strong position.”

He continued, “I’ve been immensely impressed with the systems and service levels developed by Steven (Nippy). And I’m delighted that he will remain the driving force behind Nippy Industries. This, of course, means that existing ELP customers can anticipate a positive improvement in all things rigging related." 

The first few months of 2012 already look set to be very busy for the newly backed rigging company with significant projects at ITV studios in London, the National Theatre, The Young Vic and a high profile public art installation in Trafalgar Square.
