LS-Live Puts Its In House Rigging Contract Out To Tender
Wednesday 14th December - 17.22pm
(UK) Following significant investment in its studio rental business, LS-Live is putting its in house rigging contract out to tender.
The contract is due for renewal in February next year and the company is inviting all applicants to submit proposals in line with the following brief.
Outline
The successful company will take responsibility for an on-site rigger who will carry out all rigging duties for all activity in LS-Live’s 17,664 sq ft rehearsal studio at its base in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The rigger must be available to cover all bookings in the studio and work as and when required.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include liaising with the client’s production team to obtain the rigging plot, integrating the plot design in line with the studio’s specifications, ensuring the rig will work safely within the limitations of the building and grid, and liaising with our preferred structural engineer where necessary. The in house rigger must be flexible and skilled in order to respond to last minute changes in set and rigging designs.
Background
The LS-Live rehearsal studio was purpose built in 2005 to accommodate all the rehearsal and pre-build needs of large-scale concert tours and productions. The studio regularly welcomes high profile artists and their production crew through its doors to set up and rehearse their stage productions before going on tour. Recent clients have included Kasabian, Dizzee Rascal, The Saturdays, Tinie Tempah, Sir Cliff Richard, McFly and JLS.
This year significant investment has been made in improving and expanding the on-site facilities, which now comprises 14 modern en-suite bedrooms, six en-suite dressing rooms, dance rehearsal studio, two production offices, multi-functional studios, catering area to seat 50 people, gym and green room complete with plasma TV, X-Box, bar, pool table, sofas and games.
The studio is supported by an award-winning on site set design and construction department, which has recently furnished Tinie Tempah and Kasabian with full-package, custom touring stage sets. This combination of facilities means incoming productions have everything at their fingertips on site to design, create, develop and quickly change their stage designs.
The studio is a blank canvas for concert tours, structural pre-builds, music videos, TV adverts, product launches and corporate events.
