Yamaha Launches New 01V96i Digital Mixing Console At InterBEE 2011
Thursday November 17th - 13.02pm
The 2011 International Broadcast Equipment Exhibition (InterBEE) sees Yamaha launching the 01V96i, a significantly upgraded version of its popular 01V96 digital mixing console.
First introduced in 1998, the 01V96 has proved one of Yamaha’s most widely-used digital consoles, being employed in broadcast, live sound, corporate and entertainment installations, as well as project studios. Now, the 01V96i brings a raft of new features to this popular mixer.
InterBEE 2011 takes place at Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan from 16th-18th November. Yamaha is exhibiting on stand 4113, where the 01V96i will be on show. One of the company’s core values is listening to its users and it is as a direct result of this that the new features have been added.
Featuring a class-leading 24bit/96kHz sample rate, the 01V96i features newly improved, studio-quality head amps with onboard 24bit/96kHz A/D and D/A converters.
With the demand for multi-track recording in live sound applications continually growing, the 01V96i also features 96kHz, 16 in/16 out USB 2.0 audio streaming. This new facility makes high quality multi-track recording and playback quick and straightforward and provides full integration with every major ASIO and Core Audio DAW software, with just a single connection. The 01V96i also comes bundled with the latest version of Steinberg’s Cubase AI software, offering a comprehensive range of tools for recording, editing and mixing. Multi-channel in/outs can also be achieved via a Yamaha mini-YGDAI expansion card or its built-in ADAT connection.
Further improvement of the console’s sonic performance comes via Yamaha's acclaimed Virtual Circuitry Modelling (VCM) technology. This brings the richness and warmth of analogue sound to the digital recording environment, without the user having to carry any outboard equipment.
Modelling the circuitry of the original analogue effects units, the VCM add-on effects and REV-X reverbs featured on the 01V96i are exactly the same as featured on Yamaha’s top-of-the-line professional mixers.
With 40 mixing channels, 16 analogue and eight digital inputs, eight mix buses and eight aux buses, the 01V96i control surface features precision 100mm motor faders, 99 scene memories for instant recall and fully-configurable user defined keys.
“Yamaha considers ongoing communication with our customers to be one of our most valuable assets in developing new products. The 01V96i is the embodiment of that philosophy, offering the versatility and reliability of a well-established digital console, while adding updated features and capabilities geared towards professional use,” says Kazunori Kobayashi, general manager of Yamaha’s Pro Audio Division
“With this new console we are delighted to support a broader range of applications with a fully integrated, comprehensive system that meets the growing needs and requirements of our customers.”
The 01V96i will available from December 2011 at the same price as the current model.
