Arena Group's Grahame Muir Raises Over £6K For Alzheimer Society
Tuesday October 18th - 13.50pm
The Arena Group managing director, Grahame Muir, raised over £6,000 for Alzheimer Society after taking part in London’s award winning Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon 9th October 2011.
Arena Group is the UK's largest event services company, providing seating, structures and complete temporary overlay for sporting and cultural events across the globe including Wimbledon, The Royal Wedding and The London Marathon.
On this occasion Grahame experienced the event industry from a different perspective and embraced the 13.1 mile run amongst some of the capital’s most iconic landmarks.
Grahame said: “At Arena Group we’re used to building marathon sites and it was certainly unusual to be on the other side of the fence for a change!
“My original target was to raise £5,000 so I’m really pleased that I exceeded this target for such a worthy cause.
“Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia, affecting around 465,000 people in the UK alone. It is a cause which is very close to my heart after affecting a close relative and I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the family, friends, colleagues and peers who have supported and sponsored me.”
The Half Marathon won Best Outdoor Event at the highly prestigious Event Awards 2011 and is renowned for its carnival atmosphere. Over 12,500 runners and 40,000 spectators took part this year.
