Robertson Taylor Co-creator Renews Contract
Friday September 2nd - 14.25pm
Co-creator of the music and entertainment industry insurance market Bob Taylor, has renewed his contract on an ongoing rolling basis with Robertson Taylor Insurance Brokers.
Bob and the late Willie Robertson, along with Ian France, established Robertson Taylor in 1977 as a dedicated specialist broker for the music and entertainment industry; the only one of its kind.
In the late seventies protecting a band’s financial position was not something that many, if any, considered, and suitable insurance policies were few and far between.
Through hard work and sheer determination, Robertson Taylor pioneered policies that insurers were willing to back and gave the music industry some peace of mind. Today, it is a multi-million dollar global industry.
The remarkable story of Robertson Taylor’s growth continues today. By developing new revenue streams, particularly in the US, the company’s income has grown substantially in the last few years. The company has arranged insurance for nine of the top ten grossing tours of all time.
Andy Wallin, Managing Director at Robertson Taylor, said: “We are delighted that Bob is continuing in the business as before. His experience and industry knowledge is unparalleled and there is a huge amount of affection and respect for him from both the music industry and the insurance industry. We have some incredibly talented people coming up through the business who will also benefit from the guidance he can provide.”
Bob Taylor said: “We have seen the huge changes in the industry from the late seventies when vinyl ruled and bands trashed hotels, to the dawn of the digital age and the need for bands to be professionals in an increasingly competitive world.
“Most critically we have always been available when things have gone wrong for our clients. I truly believe that this has been the source of our success. Our willingness to be there – late at night, in the early hours of the morning, no matter what day it is, and without question getting on a plane at short notice to travel anywhere in the world - that has always set our company apart, and continues to do so today.”
It is business as usual for Bob who is looking forward to seeing and talking to his friends and colleagues in the industry around the world very soon.
